You can’t come to Madrid and not go to the Muslim Walls of Madrid. One of the oldest buildings in the whole city, it was constructed way back in the 9th century. Around 60 years ago, in 1954, the construction was made an important Historic Monument in Madrid.

The Church was made a World Heritage site 6 years ago by the then Pope Benedict. The design and implementation of the build started in the 19th century. Francisco Paula de Villar was the initial architect on the project and Gaudi joined later. During the final years of his life he dedicated his time to the completion of the building which sadly didn’t happen.
Since you’re in town one of the other structures you need to visit during your time in Barcelona is to take a visit to Casa Batlló. This well-known tourist attraction is situated bang in the centre of Barcelona and is another of Gaudi’s projects. It was a re do of a built house and since then it has been restructured a number of times. The local name is House of Bones.
